Climate Change is impacting all spheres of life and presently the one of the most fascinating terms fetching attention around the globe. There are efforts going on globally to reduce use of fossil fuels, using green energy, recently new development out of G20 meeting ie. Global Biofuels Alliance. These are all very encouraging steps taken with Global partnerships. As we work on mitigation, we should continue and emphasize more on adaptation efforts. I observed the general public is also concerned about the climate and want to contribute to a larger aspect. On Public point of view, I would love to use words that I learned during a communication workshop ie. SMAAL DOABLE EFFORTS (SDE)
Like-
· Saving water- Quench Your Thirst & Save for the Rest.
· Reduce use of polythene, start with not using & discouraging polybags.Unfortunately, sometimes we understand this when drains are choked by polythene and heavy rain turn it into a pathetic situation.
· Using electric alarm for water tanks.
· Using waste water of Air conditioners for plants or other cleaning work.
· Planting and preserving trees/greenery.
While writing, I still feel that what I am writing is already known facts, with very few information, not comprehensive one- as its SDE 🙂 nothing new, and then I again remember communication approach that repeated messages through multiple channels make the mark.
So keep making these SMALL, DOABLE, EFFORTS by doing, reminding and taking along people around us to contribute to address Climate Change.
